What is a Maintenance Plan and Why is it Important? +
Seasonal maintenances are a main factor in how your HVAC system works. You'll notice clean and proper air flow and added longevity to your system. We offer a Maintenance Plan that covers your twice-a-year recommended maintenances. Call or email today to ask about our Maintenance Plan.
Need To Register Your Products? +
For Carrier Products, please register online to receive a 10-year manufacturer part warranty. For Trane Products, there is no need to register — Trane now offers a 10-year manufacturer part warranty automatically.
Is Your AC Not Cooling? +
Here are some things to check before calling:
- Have you replaced your air filters in the last 30 days? Dirty filters can cause blockage and system failure.
- Have you checked your breakers and/or disconnect switch? After a power outage, they may need to be reset.
- Is the power switch in your attic in the 'on' position? It looks like a light switch and is easy to miss.
- Did you recently replace your thermostat? Improper installation can pop a fuse — contact us for help.
- Do you notice oil residue at your exterior unit? This is a sign of a leak — contact HTM as soon as possible.
When Should You Replace Your Air Filters? +
Replace your return air filters every 1-2 months. If you have media filters (located in your attic), we recommend replacing them every 4-6 months. Regular filter replacement ensures proper and clean air flow throughout your home.
How To Keep Consistent Temperature? +
Tips for keeping your home consistently cool:
- Schedule a maintenance with HTM or ask about our Maintenance Plan. Yearly maintenances are a must in Texas heat.
- Replace your filters regularly — dirty filters block air flow.
- Keep your system ON. Shutting it off to save money actually causes damage to your system.
- Set your thermostat to no more than 75 degrees on hot Houston days.
- Use window coverings to keep unwanted heat out.
When Should You Clean Your Drain Lines? +
If you notice water dripping from your exterior pipe, your primary drain line needs cleaning. We recommend getting your drain lines unclogged and cleaned twice a year. You can request this as a standalone service or add it to your yearly maintenance.
